About Studio SKU

Giving brands control over how their products show up everywhere shoppers look.

Matthew Cardozo founded Studio SKU in Brooklyn. He studied astrophysics at Berkeley, then spent two years as a data scientist in insurance, building pricing and risk models. In late 2022 he joined Wishi, the New York styling platform, as head of AI and data, where he built its recommendation, retrieval, and agentic styling systems. Those systems decided which products, drawn from thousands of brands’ catalogs, reached more than half a million people.

They were never better than the product data beneath them, and that data was poor. It had been structured for the handoff between a brand and the platforms it sold through, never for the question a shopper was asking. Feeds were thin, the attributes that decided a match were missing or buried in marketing copy, and what a brand knew about its own products was frequently recorded nowhere at all.

So he started Studio SKU. The premise is that a brand already knows what its products are, and that knowledge should govern how they appear wherever they are sold. A brand sets the rules once; Studio SKU holds the catalog to them across search, marketplaces, storefronts, and the assistants that now answer without showing the brand’s page, and returns only the decisions that require a person. Nothing reaches a brand’s channels without approval.

The record it keeps is tied to what is actually happening: what sold, what was shown, and where a product is losing to a gap nobody recorded. The goal is a catalog a brand can put a question to, and get an answer it can act on without assembling one from exported reports.

Every engagement opens with the Fitting: a read of a brand’s live catalog, made the way a shopper and a search engine would make it, tracing every figure to what it was read from and ending in a verdict. It is free, it accompanies the demo, and your domain is all we need to start.
